Greg Payne is passionate about the role that spatial visualisation plays in the conversion of data into information and information into knowledge. Trained as a Civil Engineering Draftsman, he became interested in GIS through his role in projects analysing the consequences of failure of major Southeast Queensland dams. He has been involved in the management, visualisation and delivery of data through spatial tools for more than 20 years. Greg believes that the advent of Web GIS provides a great opportunity for browser based tools to assist informed decision making and better outcomes for the community and the environment.
