Celebrating pioneering applications of GIS
The Special Achievement in GIS (SAG) Award is presented each year by Esri to organisations from across the globe who have demonstrated exceptional innovation through the deployment of GIS technology.
Two Australian organisations were recognised in this year’s awards – the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW) & North East Water.
The Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW) were recognised for their digital project monitoring incidents of suicide and self-harm across Australian communities – providing a best-practice approach to inform support strategies and deploy services that save lives.
Victorian waste and water services provider, North East Water received the award in recognition of their digital transformation project building a first-of-its-kind intelligent water network – which provides a digital and scalable view of more than 300,000 assets.
