Esri Australia and UDC partner to help Australian utilities modernise with confidence
Brisbane, Australia, 23 October 2026 – As Australian utilities modernise both physical and digital infrastructure, the need for trusted data, connected systems and informed decision-making has never been greater. As part of a regional partnership between Boustead Geospatial and UDC, Esri Australia and UDC are combining their geospatial and utility transformation expertise to help Australian utilities build networks of the future through stronger data foundations, reduced risk and better operational performance.
The partnership responds to growing pressure on Australian utilities to manage ageing infrastructure, meet resilience requirements and make better use of network and asset data.
Australian utilities are working to modernise networks and operations while maintaining reliability, managing costs and meeting regulatory expectations. Many are held back by fragmented data and disconnected systems. Successful modernisation depends on trusted network and asset information that supports planning, operations, investment decisions and customer outcomes.
Through the partnership, Esri Australia and UDC will bring together ArcGIS expertise, advisory, implementation, managed services, data migration and integration under one accountable team from strategy and planning through implementation to ongoing operations. This provides utilities with a more integrated path to modernisation, reducing delivery risk and connecting people, data and systems across the enterprise.
Esri Australia brings extensive experience helping organisations realise value from location intelligence through strategic advisory, technology implementation, managed services and customer success. UDC contributes specialist utility domain expertise, deep ArcGIS Utility Network experience and proven migration methods that help utilities build high-fidelity network models, reduce transformation risk and prepare for digital twin capability and operational system integration.
Together, these complementary capabilities help utilities improve network visibility, strengthen data governance, reduce operational risk and make more informed infrastructure investment decisions, while creating the foundation for initiatives such as ArcGIS Utility Network, digital twins, outage management and advanced operational systems.
Brett Bundock, Managing Director, Esri Australia, said:
“Utilities are making critical decisions about infrastructure investment, resilience and customer outcomes. Those decisions depend on trusted data and a clear pathway to modernisation.”
“By partnering with UDC, we are helping customers modernise with confidence, reduce risk and accelerate time-to-value by bringing together local customer knowledge, ArcGIS expertise and specialist utility capability.”
Hamid Akhavan, CEO, UDC, said:
“UDC is pleased to establish this partnership with Boustead Geospatial, a regional leader in geospatial solutions and the exclusive distributor of Esri’s ArcGIS technology in each of its associated utility markets. We look forward to the opportunity to extend our services and further our mission to enable digital utilities with integrated technology solutions through the extensive industry knowledge of our teams.”
Esri Australia is part of Boustead Geospatial, the exclusive distributor of Esri’s ArcGIS technology across Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Bangladesh.
