Across a career spanning more than forty years – 28 in public service – Mike King has established himself as a respected law enforcement professional, renowned for his work in serial, violent and cold case crime investigation. Mike is highly experienced in organising and developing multi-agency, multi-disciplinary task forces, intelligence and real-time crime centres at all levels of government. He has worked on major events, child exploitation task forces, and has taught criminal investigative analysis (profiling) throughout the world to sworn investigators.

During his time in public service, Mike worked in every division of policing with his career appointments including Detective, Special Agent, Sergeant, Lieutenant, Division Chief, and Chief of Staff to the Utah Attorney General. In addition, he was previously a Director of UTAP, the Utah Criminal Tracking and Analysis Project and served as co-chair of the FBI's ViCAP (Violent Criminal Apprehension Program) National Advisory Board and a Board Member of the Cold Case Foundation.

Following his retirement from policing, Mike joined Esri and worked as the Global Director of Emergency Communications and Fraud Solutions for many years. Today, Mike continues to support Esri Australia and also works with other technology-focused public safety enterprises. In Mike's various roles he actively advises public safety professionals across the globe – advising on the use of cutting-edge GIS and other technologies for planning, mitigation, response, and enablement activities.

Mike is an eight-time published author, podcast host, and has appeared in a number of award-winning documentaries on the Discovery Channel, A&E and Australia’s own Under Investigation with Liz Hayes.
