Thomas Morgan is a senior research fellow at the Institute for Economics and Peace, and is responsible for the development of multiple composite indices - most notably the Global Terrorism Index and the World Internal Security and Police Index, as well as national level peace indices in Mexico, the UK and the US.

From July 2013 to May 2014, he was a visiting researcher at the Oxford Poverty and Human Development Initiative, and is a respected economist with a Master of Economics from the University of Sydney.

Thomas' research interests are focused on changes in global levels of violence since 1950, particularly in the US, UK and Australia, and on the connection between peace, governance, business and corruption.
