Conducting research for the University of Sydney
Jamie is a PhD Candidate in Remote Sensing at the University of Sydney School of Geosciences. Working with the ARC Training Centre for CubeSats, UAVs and Their Applications (CUAVA) to optimise remote sensing methodologies for measurement of biophysical characteristics of seagrass as they relate to blue carbon sequestration. Prior to commencing his PhD, Jamie completed BSc (Hons) in Geography with a focus on remote sensing and natural hazards at the University of Sydney.
He won the Esri Young Scholar Award through his innovative application of GIS technology to link spatial-temporal trends in COVID-19 cases at the postcode level to information regarding socio-economic disadvantage. The publicly traded dataset was an essential tool for tracking case outbreaks in real time.
