Catherine is a Senior Scientist in the GBR Water Quality & Investigations Team at the Queensland Government Department of Environment and Science (DES). Her expertise is in assessing landscape-scale interactions and conducting water quality risk assessments to inform decision support frameworks.

Her passion is in understanding the current state of aquatic ecosystems, identifying changes in risk profile, and using this information to influence management plans and policy in the environmental space. Catherine currently works with the development of ecologically relevant assessment of pesticides, sediment and nutrient risk to the Great Barrier Reef Lagoon under the Reef 2050 Water Quality Improvement Plan.
