MapData Sciences changes name to MapData Services

MapData Sciences Pty Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Esri Australia, today announced a company name change. Effective 1 April 2011, the new name is MapData Services Pty Ltd.

With the services side of the business evolving, the company has moved beyond its original name and beginnings. They needed a new name that better described the company and its service proposition. They believe the name change will help create a more distinctive identity for current and future development efforts and service offerings.  With the market dynamics rapidly changing businesses need to be nimble to deliver meaningful services to gain business advantage through location-based services.

We believe the name MapData Services will allow us to better represent our business as it reflects the company’s long-term strategy to advance an all-encompassing full location-based service proposition” said General Manager Cassandra Barker.

The name change will be accompanied by a re-branding initiative and new market offerings.
