GIS Day

From reducing bird strikes at airports; to identifying endangered turtle habitats; to underpinning the nation's first bushfire simulator – GIS is becoming increasingly ubiquitous, playing a key role in mapping the future of our country.

This year, International GIS Day was held on 16 November. Almost 100 organisations from around Australia held functions celebrating the importance of GIS in their organisations.
